Dr. Gerald Pendery
Gerald Pendery was born and raised in
Fort Worth. After graduating from high school, he followed his father's footprints to
Texas
A&M for his undergraduate degree. After two years in graduate school working on a master's degree in veterinary physiology, he enrolled in veterinary school and graduated in 1975.
Upon graduation, Dr. Pendery practiced at
Park
Cities
Animal
Hospital for five years, then purchased Valwood Animal Hospital in 1980 where he has been in practice ever since.
Dr. Pendery has a strong interest in internal medicine and geriatric care. He has served as president of the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association and president and officer of the North Texas Emergency Pet Clinic and the Flower Mound Emergency Pet Clinic. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Pendery is married to Julia Pendery and they have two sons, Geoffrey and Clark. Outside of veterinary medicine he enjoys the outdoors, fishing, golf, hunting, and photography.
Reading and cooking are his indoor hobbies.

Dr. Jo Querner
Jo Querner received her veterinary medicine degree from Kansas State University in 1996. After graduation, she began her veterinary career in Dallas and joined the Valwood Animal Hospital staff in 1998.
Dr. Querner enjoys the client, patient, and staff relationships she has formed over the past thirteen years at Valwood. She is a member of the Collin County Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
She has two dogs and four cats, and her medical interests include internal medicine, preventative medicine, and dermatology.

Michele (Receptionist)
Michele was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. As a child, she enjoyed softball, tetherball on the corner of her street, and camping. During her high school years she volunteered for the Red Cross as a candy striper.
After graduating from high school, she worked in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant and worked at several nursing homes and hospitals. She also did some in-home nursing care for the elderly.
She moved to Texas in 2006 and resides in Carrollton, Texas. After pondering what career move to make, she decided her love for animals would point her in the direction of animal care. She joined the staff at Valwood Animal Hospital in 2008 as a receptionist.
She shares her home with her husband Sean and their three dogs, Claire, Cleo, and Rudy. Her pastimes include reading, swimming, and movies.

Missy (Lead Technician)
Our resident technician was trained at Cedar Valley College and has been an essential asset to the veterinary team at Valwood Animal Hospital for many years. She also served as technician to the North Texas Pet Emergency Clinic for several years |

Wendi (Assistant Technician)
Wendi has been a member of the support staff at Valwood Animal Hospital for many years.
She was born and raised in Farmers Branch and received her education at Brookhaven College and Texas A&M where she studied animal science and veterinary public health.
She has many years of volunteer experience with Texas Exotic Feline Foundation and works with several rescue groups.
She also conducts community outreach programs by giving tours to local youngsters to share the basics of pet care and the importance of regular visits to their veterinarian. |

Monavee (Assistant Technician)
Monavee met Dr. Pendery while volunteering at the Farmers Branch Animal Shelter and now works with Dr. Pendery at Valwood Animal Hospital part time.
A photographer during the school year, she is a year-round volunteer for Farmers Branch Animal Shelter and Cause for Paws.
Monavee has a unique gift for fostering and rehabilitating dogs and cats who have special challenges and needs. |
